Rediscover the value of Citrix and why we love Citrix

Citrix has a long history, and its focus on features has evolved over time. New use cases have emerged in response to current demands, such as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policies and significant global events like COVID-19. However, we often overlook the various use cases that Citrix supports and the benefits of utilizing Citrix solutions.

In the past, we relied on XenApp and XenDesktop. But what were the key use cases for these products? I recently watched the keynotes from IGEL Disrupt in Munich, where Gabe Knuth from the Enterprise Strategy Group provided insights into the past, reminding us of the various use cases and the reasons behind them.

These use cases remain in demand, but some companies view app virtualization on CVAD or Citrix DaaS as a necessary evil. They often have a server/client application that can only be delivered due to its sensitivity to latency, overlooking the numerous benefits it provides.

These benefits include:

  • Data security
  • Easier application upgrades
  • Streamlined onboarding for new employees

These advantages are often taken for granted when discussing app virtualization with Citrix. I highly recommend watching the keynote from IGEL; you can register here to gain access.

Utilize the Value of Your Citrix License

With Netscaler now part of the Citrix Universal HMC license, we hear a lot about its impressive features. However, we must remember why we initially adopted Citrix products. The reason remains the same: Citrix has been delivering applications effectively for over 35 years. They continuously improve and adapt their solutions to meet today’s requirements. As we increasingly rely on web applications, security in their delivery remains paramount. To address this, Citrix has introduced Secure Private Access, which allows for the secure delivery of web applications.

Citrix has announced that Citrix Analytics is now included in the Citrix Universal HMC license. This feature enhances the user experience and ensures your environment meets security requirements of your organization.

Overall, these new features will add significant value to Citrix’s core strength—delivering applications effectively.
